Jason Aldean’s musical career

Jason Aldean was born in Georgia in 1977 and was originally named Jason Williams. He adopted the name Aldean when he decided to pursue a career in music adapted from his middle name, Aldine. Although both parents encouraged his talents, it was his father who taught him how to play the guitar and inspired him in the country music genre. By the age of 14 he had decided he wanted to be a full time musician. He performed in local venues and and at talent contests until he joined a band at 15.

Aldean began writing original material during his time performing with his band at Truman State University. It was when performing these new songs in 1998 that he was spotted by a representative of the Warner-Chappell song-publishing company who persuaded him to move to Nashville. After a few setbacks with dropped recording contracts he was finally picked up by manager Lawrence Mathis and was offered a recording contract with Broken Bow Records. His American country music career began to take off.

Finally in 2005 Jason Aldean released his first single, called “Hicktown”. It got to number 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts and served as a prelude to the release of his inaugural album, “Jason Aldean”. His first number one hit, “Why” was from the same album which sold over a million copies in the United States alone. In 2006 his song “Amarillo Sky” was nominated for song and video of the year and he was also the proud winner of the 2006 Top New Male Vocalist award.

His career continued to progress and he has since released five more albums to date. These include the “Relentless” album of 2007, “Wide Open” in 2009 “My Kinda Party” in 2010, “Night Train” in 2012 and “Old Boots, New Dirt” in 2014.

He released a DVD in 2009 entitled “Wide Open Live & More” and Jason Aldean has also had a substantial tour history around the country. Some of the highlights of his musical career have been performing with other huge names in the music industry including Bryan Adams and Randy Owen.

He has won numerous awards over the years from Entertainer of the Year to Album of the Year and from Top Country Artist to Touring Artist of the Year. His 2012 album “Night Train” went double platinum while three of his other albums have attained single platinum status.  There is currently a Jason Aldean Tour scheduled, and his performing career continues to go from strength to strength.
